Quarantine Diaries: Day 30

13th of April 2020, Monday

Full Moon

It’s a rainy Monday today. Come to think of it, it’s been an unusually rainy and gloomy week for summer. I checked the calendar today and I was surprised to find that 30 days have already passed since the community quarantine has been enforced. It seems that the days are just melting into the next. I’m not sure if it’s sleeping in that’s making me feel that time is more fluid nowadays.

I’ve observed that our kids have settled into a 12-hour waking schedule and are accomplishing their share of the household chores pretty well, which is great for me. It’s been over 60 days since I’ve had a sidekick to deal with backend chores i.e. laundry and general house cleaning. So now, my days are mainly filled with preparing meals and cleaning different areas around our home, which I’m super slooooow at because I want to find the perfect place for everything — and deep cleaning is #Goals. This also means that I haven’t been able to hunker down and pick up where I left off on my decluttering project early last year, and I’m mostly chickening out of the daunting amount of paper clutter I have to cut through.

The list of things undone go on and on, but these problems are mundane compared to the gripping fear that I feel every now. I wonder if everything is ever going back to ‘normal’ with COVID-19 cases now ballooning and not showing signs of slowing down.
